Swimwear: dress yourself in polka-dot
It looks like polka-dot is going to be a favorite in Summer 2006.
Spots Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (February 2006) featured several top celebrities in swanky polka-dot bikinis.
Polka-dot was first patterned on clothing in the late 19th century in Britain and was named after polka music (although there hardly is any connection between the two). Since then it has always been considered more or less trendy and it has periodically appeared in famous designer’s collections at runway shows.
Summer 2006 will dazzle in a rainbow palette of blazing hues. This passion for radian colors is only an advantage for polka-dot. Burnt orange, turquoise, cobalt, fuchsia and crimson swimsuits will look even more fascinating when patterned with polka-dot.
Black, brown, chocolate and khaki will remain in vogue this summer. White on black equally spaced and sized polka-dot will be a conservative alternative of the stylish pattern.
White will never lose its charm in the coming season. A random arrangement of multicolored dots on white will create a cool and funky style.
On the whole, the coming summer welcomes any print styles, including bold ethnic prints, chic safari styles, animal and flower prints and black and white graphics. Plunging necks and fifties cuts are the latest trends in swimwear. However, the tendency towards reduction continuous and tiny microkinis or string bikinis are always available for those who don’t have any qualms about showing off some more skin.
