La Fee Verte is a new lingerie brand that was recently launched out of Canada.  This edgy collection is the brainchild of Adam Sakara, the creative director and talented founder of the line.  The first collection called Season 1, is inspired by the Garden of Eden and is based on bold blues, pinks, purples, and chartreuses which contrast against inky black backgrounds.  Only the pictures below do justice to the collection which truly lives up to its name, La Fee Verte, which is the name used in historical literature for the highly intoxicating beverage, Absinthe.

In the period when the lingerie industry was going through the effects of the recession, and the general mood was reserved, I was intrigued by La Fee Verte brand that would dare to go bold!  The Fall 2009 collection was super daring, whimsical and colorful.  In contrast, the Spring – Summer 2010 underwear collection presented by the brand takes a more vintage, more Parisian, more mature direction while still retaining an emphasis on quality and luxury.

The best about the S/S collection is the variety of unique silhouettes that can easily captivate the eye. The line includes bralettes, kimonos, rompers, tap shorts, classic, modern looking and vintage bra sets, and other items. Most pieces presented are able to double as outerwear as well as innerwear. Some of them are striking and could easily be incorporated into an outfit for a night on the town.

Another feature that amazed me in this collection is the subtlety of the colorways.  The designer uses simple, yet elegant combinations like gray and pink, black and lavender, black and ivory, and pink and ivory, the intricacy of the design shines through.I consider that La Fee Verte lingerie is a rare example of modern elegance, beauty, quality and style. That is a diamond in intimates industry.

The world has turned upside down in recent decades, especially the world of fashion. Now the aim of every designer is not to follow healthy trends creating comfortable and elegant items, they want to shock with their extravagant decisions and bold experiments.

The latest lingerie trend is to use underwear as outwear. The idea might seem too incredible for traditional people. Personally I did not believe the trend to gain true popularity at first, it seemed too shocking for me, now the situation has changed dramatically.

Some critics say that the tendency means a serious decline in morality, while others think it to be evidence of the peak in consumption. In fact, there were times when luxurious lingerie was considered a sign of wealth. Now we can observe the same situation. Fashion designers who spend huge sums of money on underwear do not like to keep it invisible. In the result at this year’s fashion Week on the catwalk models marched in bodices, underskirts, suspenders and bras. Marc Jacobs layered a baby blue silky bra over a blushed dusty pink blouse. Botega Venetta presented an ivory-coloured boned corset paired with a gauzy cream cardigan.
