Playboy Lingerie: new underwear brand

Friday, April 21st, 2006

Playboy LogoThis spring Playboy starts a new brand – Playboy Intimates. It will offer to dear women a white-label, better-price line lingerie.

We cannot expect from the world’s known sexy brand anything else, but sizzling and super revealing garments. I think you’ll agree with my opinion that if anyone can manufacture sexy lingerie, that should be Playboy.

The first collection of the brand will be devoted to Luscious Babes, a retro-inspired ode to the magazine’s blatantly sexy cover girls and centerfolds of the late Sixties and Seventies.

The next collection will be titled Show Off and will feature posh, glamorous undergarments typical of Beverly Hills and the Playboy Mansion. This line will also reflect the hedonistic lifestyle of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

These two first collections will be followed by the fall line, which will be inspired by American Vaudeville, and by the winter one, which is going to display the romanticism of Dreamscape venue.

Playboy promises that their collections will be intended for primarily young and ‘thirtysomething’ women, who are thirsty for sultry and sleek underwear, who are daring about their outfit and positive about their life.

The underwear of the coming line will feature all kinds of alluring embellishments with the abundance of lace, embroidery, ornaments and sexy patterns. The new brand aimed to satisfy the demands of the most discerning “fashionistas” and I’m sure it will! With its playful, sexy and provocative motifs.

Lesley Jane Seymour who has been Marie Claire EIC since 2001 has resigned and her position will be filled by Joanna Coles who is to join Marie Claire on May 15.

Joanna Coles is considered as a talented and successful correspondent with an imposing experience in journalism. She has occupied a position of executive editor of More since 2004. As an experienced journalist and interesting woman Joanna Coles feels confident that she will become a worthy successor of Lesley Jane Seymour and will manage to satisfy the demands of her future readers.

Fashion Design Contest at Olympus Fashion Week

Monday, April 17th, 2006

UPS and IMG Fashion will give ten emerging designers a chance to exhibit their Spring 2007 collections at Olympus Fashion Week in New York City from September 8 to 15.

UPS and IMG Fashion announced a worldwide contest for hot aspiring fashion designers. The ten best talents will get an opportunity to showcase their collections at Olympus Fashion Week.

It’s not the first event of this kind arranged by UPS. The first “UPS Delivers Fashion’s Future” initiative started in 2005, where the collections of Doo.Ri, Project Alabama, Willow and Tomer, and of many others were displayed. This year UPS in collaboration with IMG Fashion will continue the tradition of promoting the new names in the fashion world and will support other ten young talents.

The show will take place this autumn from September 8 to 15. The location of the event is New York City, onsite in the UPS Hub, a venture constructed exclusively for UPS to showcase these future fashion A-listers in the Bryant Park tents.
All the sides will benefit from the project. The participation in the exhibition will bring the emerging designers into the US market and to the fashion community, and also will make their names known worldwide.

UPS International in their turn is proud to be part of delivering fashion’s future again this year, and IMG Fashion is also very excited about the USB’s initiative, which will add a new dimension to New York’s Olympus Fashion Week.

The organizers set two main demands for the participants: the contestants must have been in business for at least two years and they must have sold a minimum of their two collections to boutiques or department stores. The winners will be chosen by a jury, which will consist of home and international fashion editors, retailers and industry pros.

As a reward the winners of the contest will have their venue rental subsidized by UPS, which includes state-of-the-art lighting, sound and staging, and inclusion in all Olympus Fashion Week collateral materials, marketing, public relations and advertising. Besides, they will benefit from added marketing materials developed by UPS for the initiative.

If among our readers there are those who suit the demands of USB and dare to try their luck, you’re welcome to send materials, including look books, videos and sketches, to:

IMG Fashion
