Underwear: Electric-Heated Garments for men and women

Saturday, April 1st, 2006

Electric-Heated UndergarmentThere is no more need to dress in layers or in uncomfortable heavy clothing, when it gets cold. Today sheer underwear can keep you hot no worse than all that heavy stuff you put on yourself in winter.

Don’t believe? Then listen…

OK, probably I have exaggerated when said sheer… But anyway, WarmX, a German company, launches a line of electric-heated apparel that will keep you toasty no matter what the weather is.

We have already heard about the heated socks, and now it’s electric-heated underwear. Well, the news is a little too late (fortunately, the winter is over), but the ‘hot undergarments’ can come handy at any season.

The designers promise that the apparel from the new collection is extremely comfortable, without those heavy wires, annoying bulkiness and other disappointments. And these all thanks to a new technology used in manufacturing the collection, when  special electrically conductive polyamide thread is woven directly into the cloth.

Additional comfort is provided by a temperature regulator with a microprocessor in the control module/battery, which has three different levels at your choice. The heated underwear is powered by a rechargable Lithium Ion battery, which lasts from 2 to 5 hours depending on the temperature.

That all sounds pretty attractive, though I would think twice before rushing to order the ‘magic apparel’. First of all because… uh…have I mentioned the price? Well, it’s $301 – I am not sure that it is worth the money.

Besides, there should definitely be some negatives about the product. People say that these undergarments cause a static charge that makes your hair all frizzy. And what about safety? The heated socks manufacturers assure that their products are safe from electromagnetic radiation. But WarmX site doesn’t give any information on the issue.

Frankly speaking, I have never worn such things and I’m not sure whether they are worth trying. If you know more about the garments, I’ll appreciate any information.

So far WarmX offers undershirts for men and women, but the range of electric-heated apparel will be widen soon. You may purchase the available garments on the company’s German website

Girdles: mens underwear

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

Today fashion requires that both women and men have slim silhouettes. This trend has brought a new item on the men underwear market.men's girdle

Girdles, once worn by women only, nowadays have become extremely popular among males as well. The overweight is the problem of the 21st century. While modern society keeps on putting weight, Japanese underwear designers try to find a solution.

Last month, leading underwear firm Triumph International Japan put a trial line of men’s girdles on the market. They introduced two different types of the flattering undergarment – one from the navel to the knees, and the other a “hip hugger” alternative to be worn with low-waist pants. Both styles were a success and went like hot cakes.

The proven popularity of the item makes Japanese underwear manufacturers work on developing new girdle versions, which will include an alternative for summer wear and a variation for shaping the upper body.

Girdles were extremely popular in the 1950s-1960s when the fashion for a wasp waist came with the advent of the Dior New Look.

Today they are not so widely worn by women, but they are gaining their popularity among men. Modern girdles can be made of elasticized fabrics such as lycra and spandex. They are usually seamless and may include compression panels, bands and other features that provide lifting and smoothing.

With modern ingenious designs of underwear, people have a chance to overcome most of the figure problems they face. Today’s garments are able to slim, flatten, enhance all areas of the body.

It’s curious that girdles are bought not only by middle-aged inertial males, but also by young guys of 20s-30s. What’s it all about – a new trend or a spreading weight problem?

Valentine’s day gifts: lingerie for your beloved one

Saturday, February 11th, 2006

We are pretty close to St. Valentine’s Day, so it’s high time to decide on gifts for our beloved ones. It’s difficult to find something more suitable than a piece (or a set) of sultry lingerie to present your girlfriend (wife, or lover) with on this day. Why?

First of all because St. Valentine’s Day is all about love, romance and … sex, while refined lingerie revolves around the same. Besides, laces, ribbons and frills, which are an essential part of lingerie embellishment today, have been associated with love and romance since they appeared. In previous centuries, young ladies presented knights with handkerchiefs decorated with laces, when their beloved rode for a battle.

Moreover, lingerie may add some spice to your relationship as nothing else. St. Valentine’s Day is perfect for some experiments. You have a chance to make your girlfriend try on some new sexy styles (exotic, or even trashy underwear is exactly what you need on this occasion), which will definitely add a spark to your night.

But it’s not a secret that women always want more proves of love than just a material gift. So, show your beloved one that you really care of her by adding a personal touch to your gift. Just a few hints:

  • be creative about a cover: pink, red, or heart-printed wrapping paper suits perfectly the event;
  • don’t forget about a tag, real and virtual cards with poems are also a good idea;
  • think of flowers: a single rose is a good addition to your gift;
  • and last but not least, plan out a special dinner and don’t forget about candles.

By the way, if it happens so that it’s you and not your man who is reading this post, take advantage of it. Present your significant one with yourself in an enticing wrapping (because revealing lingerie is really enticing, isn’t it?). Besides think of something extraordinary (an improvised strip show, for example), that will make the night never-to-be-forgotten.
