Summer is in its middle! That means that it is the hottest season of swimsuit lingerie models! What are you waiting for? Get your vacation, go on holidays, put on your swimsuit and relax under the hot sun light! What is the problem? You still don’t possess a cool swimwear, aren’t you? Than it is high time the item to be bought! Another problem? Don’t you know how to choose a splendid model among all the variety of swimsuit lingerie models? Than my article is aimed to help you in this hard business of choosing the right item. First of all, before choosing you should mind that there are different swimsuit lingerie models and I’m going to mention some of them. There exist one-piece swimsuits and two-piece ones. All of them are also divided into different models.

One-piece swimsuits

One-piece swimsuits include tank suit, monokini, thong swimsuit, sling bikini, pretzel suit. Tank suit, or another name - one-piece, is the most common form of one-piece swimsuit, the tank suit form is inspiration for the subsequent creation of the tank top as a mainstream article of clothing. Tank suit is an item to be wear in “swimming tank”, what is now called a swimming pool. Monokini is a term used for different styles of one-piece swimsuits inspired by the bikini style. A monokini is a bikini shaped that has been modified into one piece. Thong swimsuit is a one-piece swimsuit with thong back. Sling bikini which is also known as a “suspender bikini”, “suspender thong“, “slingshot bikini” or just “slingshot” is a one-piece suit which provides as little coverage as a bikini. Sling bikini usually has a bottom like a bikini has, but rather than the straps going around the hips or waist, the side straps extend upwards to cover the breasts and go over the shoulders, leaving the entire sides of the torso uncovered, but the nipples and pubic area covered. Behind the neck, the straps join and reach down the back to become a thong. Pretzel suit is a one-piece suit which resembles a sling bikini, but the straps encircle the torso around the bottom of the ribcage, forming a very high-sided bikini bottom. Instead of the straps passing over the neck and down the back, they simply encircle the neck, joining the straps which pass around the midriff.

Two-piece swimsuits

Two-piece swimsuits are also presented by a great variety of models, though they certainly resemble one-piece models. The two-piece models involve bikini, thong, T-back or G-string. They also can be presented as tankini (a tank top combined with a bikini bottom) or stringbodys, halter-necks, maillots, plunge fronts and many others.

Minimalism in clothing habits today takes its extreme form, which verges on exhibitionism. The desire of modern society to expose oneself is nothing but a cultural fever, which has its signs and consequences. What is significant this fever concerns women and men equally.

So what are the signs of cloth minimalist fever:

1. We start with traditional THONGS, which is ‘classics’ of modern minimalist style. Even our grannies have already got used to these small lingerie pieces. There is a dozen of thongs styles available in every local lingerie store, which boggle the mind of an average customer with their ribbons, laces and ruffs.

- traditional thongs
- G-string
- V-string

2. MALE THONGS are a topic in its own right. Despite an existing opinion that this underwear is for girls only, statistics says that it becomes more common among men as well. And if we remember that g-strings originally were the only garment of Japanese fundoshi 2000 years ago, we won’t be surprised by this fact (Read more in Thongs: 10 curious facts).

Although, the number of women wearing thongs is great deal outnumbers the men, the first step has been made. Men’s thongs are not associated with strip dancers and gays any longs.

Below are a few reasons why they do it:
- thongs prevent visible brief lines
- minimize tan lines
- give more support
- they are comfortable
- sexy
- they are not seen under trousers

3. You have always thought that it is impossible to create something more revealing than g-strings, look at the C-STRING (and it is not a computer term, it is lingerie)! It is a g-string, but without the band around the waist! It is held in place firmly by a flexible internal frame and in some cases also silicone lines at the both ends.

C-strings were created to eliminate any possibility of panty lines. But I wouldn’t be surprised if in the near future we’ll see them on the beach, as they can also minimizes tan lines.

4. Now let’s speak about swimwear. A good example of minimalist fever is a MICROKINI. It is a traditional bikini, but 20 times smaller. It looks like a bikini for a Barbie, so tiny it is! But if you know the history of this provocative swimwear, you would understand why it is so small and revealing.

Originally it was designed to cover as minimum skin as possible, just to comply with the laws banning nudity in public places. First microkinis were homemade swimsuits sewn by Venice Beach regulars in ‘70s who were banned to stay nude.

5. One more provocative bikini style is a SLING BIKINI, or SUSPENDER BIKINI. It is an extremely revealing and sexually provoking style of swimwear. It looks like big thongs, because its side straps are supposed to come up to cover breasts. Although this style won’t reduce tan lines, but it is sure to attract men’s attention to you on the beach. 

6. STRAPLESS BIKINI or a C-STRING bikini is the choice of daring girls who do not want any tan lines! Extremely explicit and revealing!

6. Last and least! MONOKINI does not only verge on nudity, but it is nudity itself. This swimwear style is used for topless bathing and consequently consists only of the bottom part of a bikini, which can be any design you like!
